County Water Demand Forecast Model Update

The updated Spokane County Water Demand Forecast Model was presented by Mike Hermanson at the October IWAC meeting.  View the full presentation Spokane County Water Demand Forecast Model 3.0 10-8-13

Forecasts for water demand were based on factors such as: demographic forecasts; housing and employment projections; water system data; monthly water use by sector from 15 water systems over a 20 year span; agricultural census; aerial photo interpretation; park irrigation records; self supplied industrial; and county subarea demand.

The earlier Water Demand Model did not distinguish between consumptive and non-consumptive demand. The updated model separated water demand for each sector and sub-sector into consumptive use and non-consumptive use and accounted for the return flow of non-consumptive water use.
